Who can attend?
Fellows who are in their second year, or graduating this spring may attend the Home Dialysis University. Each fellow may only attend this course one time. If, through any circumstance, a fellow has attended a previous HDU, they are not eligible to attend again. Can my spouse come?
All functions are of a business nature and are not suitable for spouses, or children. Only participant expenses will be covered. Any additional fees incurred for non-participants will be the sole responsibility of the participant. This includes: travel, additional room charges, meals, and other incidental expenses.
Is there a registration fee?
There is a $100.00 registration fee to attend the course. Cancellations received within 90 days after online registration, but no later than 10 days before the meeting will be refunded minus a $50.00 administrative fee.
What is covered by the ISPD grant?
The grant for all attendees will cover the room and tax for two (2) nights of hotel reserved through the online registration system, and up to $300.00 air or mileage expenses. Mode of travel should be the most economical. Travel reimbursement will only cover airline ticket, or mileage for those who drive to the meeting. What is NOT covered by the ISPD grant?
The grant does not cover ground transfers in your home city or in the city of the meeting, meals before or after the meeting, dinners on Sunday and Monday night of the meeting, hotel incidental charges including internet charges, luggage fees, parking expenses, or travel expenses that exceed the restrictions as outlined above.
How do I apply for the grant?
No application is needed. If you are accepted as registered for the meeting, grant funds will be used for your participation as outlined above. When you have successfully completed the registration, you will receive an email confirmation at the email address entered in your registration. If you do not qualify for attendance as outlined in "Who can attend?" your registration will be cancelled and you will be notified.
When should I arrive?
The meeting begins at 12:30PM promptly on the Sunday of the meeting. Please plan on arriving at the hotel no later than 12:15PM to check-in and locate the meeting room. It is the expectation of the course faculty that you will attend all the lectures. When does the course end?
The course concludes at approximately noon on the Tuesday of the meeting. Please plan your departure from the hotel after noon. Partial participation may result in reduced reimbursement.
What should I wear?
This meeting is business casual. Sometimes the hotel meeting rooms are very cool, so please bring a sweater or jacket.
How do I reserve a hotel room?
Hotel rooms should be reserved as part of the registration process. The grant funds cover hotel room on Sunday and Monday night. Additional nights may be requested, and will be confirmed via email based on hotel availability. No reimbursements will be made for hotel arrangements made outside the online course registration.
What about travel arrangements?
Please make your own airline reservations. Please book the best economy class fare available. Airline reservations should be made soon after you complete your registration, and at least 21 days before the meeting to secure the best ticket price.
No reimbursements will be made for first class or any upgraded ticket, or any luggage fees. The maximum reimbursement for air travel will be $300.00 or the cost of the best fare available at the time you completed your registration for the meeting.
At the meeting, you will be provided with a reimbursement request form for your airline reservation. You will need to submit an original receipt (with your itinerary and ticket price) for reimbursement. Your travel should be arranged to allow you to participate in the entire meeting. Partial participation may result in reduced reimbursement.

What if I want to drive to the meeting?
You may drive to the meeting. Reimbursement will be at the government rate of 53.5 cents per mile, which includes fees for gas and any tolls. Hotel self-parking fees may be submitted for reimbursement. Mileage will be calculated from the address on your registration to the meeting hotel. Expenses for travel to the meeting will covered for the least expensive mode of travel available (car mileage at 53.5 cents per mile, or economy air ticket) not to exceed $300.00.
At the meeting, you will be provided with a reimbursement request form for mileage. Your travel should be arranged to allow you to participate in the entire meeting. Partial participation may result in reduced reimbursement.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
Ground transportation from the airport to the hotel is the responsibility of the participant. You will receive an email approximately 1 week before the meeting that will outline some options for transfers for that particular meeting.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please contact Jennifer Heald at 630-408-0736 or jheald@npmeet.com to cancel your meeting registration. If you do not cancel your registration, and do not attend, you will be charged for your hotel reservation.
