The program curriculum offers you the insights and tools you need to become a stronger leader, revitalize your team, improve your strategic thinking, develop successful operations practices and strategies, and promote growth and innovation.
 
These skills and behaviors will better equip you to tackle challenging situations, foster an agile, high-performance culture, and make impactful and effective decisions in today’s rapidly evolving and unpredictable climate.
Day 1

Today we establish a strong foundation for the academy and introduce Agile Leadership
KICKOFF
You will learn how the Academy evolved, get a preview of the learning journey you are stepping into, and the overall “why” behind the program. This is an opportunity for you to connect with your cohort, meet your accountability partners, explore the Academy participant materials including an introduction to the Capstone project.
LEADING WITH AGILITY
This workshop offers you the insights and knowledge needed to increase trust and inspire others with intention, lead yourself and your team with a growth mindset, and foster the four dimensions of agile leadership:
 
Leading self, others, partners and stakeholders, and the business.
Day 2+3

The two-day workshop offers a comprehensive Introduction to Operations and Service Management
SERVICE MANAGEMENT
Throughout this 2-day workshop, you’ll gain an enhanced understanding of how to:
  • Develop and adhere to budgets and standards
  • Understand productivity and productivity measurement
  • Design and implement realistic staffing and scheduling plans
  • Use MIS reports to manage performance
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Improve Client and Employee Satisfaction
Day 4
6 hours
Today we dig into what it takes to Lead teams, processes, and partner with others through Change and in a Matrix.
LEADING THROUGH CHANGE
Change can be challenging on its own and leading through change takes that to a whole new level. During this session you will strengthen your ability to:
  • Lead self and others through the technical and personal journeys of change and transition
  • Increase trust and inspire others with intention
  • Foster improved performance and resilience through the entire change journey
  • Introduce the Change Management Framework
LEADING IN A MATRIX
Navigating our matrix organization well is imperative to leading your teams and leading our business. During this workshop, you will
  • Become even more effective at leading in different types of matrixes’ - simple vs. complicated vs. complex
  • Driving business results in the matrix
  • Increasing trust and influence more intentionally
  • Fostering greater cross functional collaboration – introduce RACI tool for role clarity
Day 5
6 hours
Today we explore how to leverage digital automation and quality to enhance your role as a leader.
LEADERSHIP PRESENCE
Leadership presence is a key skill for any leader.  This workshop blends the concepts of everyday executive presence with actionable information on delivering successful presentations. We will focus on building executive presence skills, understanding audience needs when planning presentations and how to manage audiences most effectively.   You will leverage the skills learned in this workshop as you prepare and present your Capstone project at the conclusion of the Academy.
QUALITY - WHITE BELT
During this workshop, you will better understand that quality is a responsibility we all have. Together, we will discuss:
  • Quality is the pursuit of excellence, striving to be the best we can and getting ahead of our competitors.  
  • How imperative quality and process improvement is in helping us collectively meet the needs and expectations of all stakeholders – our customers, our suppliers, our staff and the community at large.
  • Quality improvement at Elevance Health is possibly by utilizing a strong process improvement methodology, such as Lean Six Sigma
Day 6
5.5 hours
Today we build your know how as a creative – innovative leader and wrap up with how best to provide both coaching and feedback to others.
INNOVATION
Innovation is critical to how we help lead Elevance Health through transformation. During this workshop, you will:
  • Leverage Harvard Manage Mentor content for individual learning
  • Identify opportunities for innovation
  • Focus on your most promising innovations
  • Large group and small group discussions on testing and improving innovations and developing a network of supporters
COACHING and FEEDBACK
  • Gain an understanding of the difference between Coaching and Feedback
  • Learn and practice the GROW coaching model and the SBIA feedback model
  • Explore the Hallmarks of successful coaching
Day 7
3.5 hours
Today we pull everything together! You will share your innovative solution with peers for feedback and we will wrap up with “graduation”
CAPSTONE
Project
  • Leverage scenarios and case studies through-out program
  • Present project to cohort Accountability group
  • Senior leader(s) participate and provide coaching/feedback on presentations
Debrief
  • Being an Agile Leader – an Ops Leader of the Future
  • Business imperatives for Elevance Health’s operations leaders
  • Revisit the journey they have gone through and capture key takeaways/feedback
  • Call to action to bring the concepts from the “classroom” into the flow of work
  • Discuss sustainment plan and next steps to continue learning
